Hundreds of news sources are out today with a story about a Kaiser Family Foundation study on kids and media use, including electronic games.
And here’s a shocker: While most of the young people in the study got good grades, 47% of the heaviest media users had mostly C’s or lower.
Other highlights:
- Compared with peers a decade ago, young people spend 79 more minutes of free time each day listening to music, watching TV and movies, playing video games and hanging out online.
- Young people spend seven hours and 38 minutes using media in a typical day
The findings surveyed 2,002 people ages 8 to 18.
